2023 Group Walking Schedule

Note:

Walk times vary depending on weather conditions, so please note the walk times below
Walks begin right at the start time so arrive early to sign-in, use the restroom, etc.
Walks are cancelled if there is snow or ice on the sidewalks or the temperature is expected to be greater than 85 degrees during the walk. We normally email the list when this happens.
The "Details/OSB" link for each walk may be used to get more information about the walk and allows you to sign-in via the online start box for that walk if one exists.

SEDRO WOOLLEY, WA

Northern State Recreation Area Veteran's Park, 25625 Helmick Rd,

Historic N. State Hospital Walk -Event

Walk starts at a Veteran's Memorial and goes through the grounds of a former NW Washington State Mental Hospital.
Walk along trails past large barns, an old cannery, through farmland, deserted buildings, wooded trails, unmarked graveyard and historic hospital site.
5 and 10km rated 1A (easy)

LAKE OSWEGO, OR

Neighborhood Group Walk – YRE 1653 Details/OSB

The 10km walk takes you through several parks with trails, into very nice residential neighborhoods and goes past the Portland Oregon Temple (LDS Temple).
You will continue through more nice neighborhoods on your return past the post office to the finish.
The 5km route takes you through two parks with trails and along a short neighborhood stretch, then return to the Finish.
5 and 10 km rated 2B (moderate)

OPTOUT Group Walk – (TGW)

Enjoy walking in Oregon's Family Town on OPTOUT day.
We'll stroll through some neighborhoods, parks, and some of the downtown area.
5 and 10km rated 1A (easy)
OPTOUT is a term that REI has used for many years to get people to forgo the mad Black Friday sales and crowed stores on the day after Thanksgiving and instead do something outside.
Volkssporting has been holding 10 km walks - many have started in the REI stores both in Seattle and Portland.

EDMONDS, WA

Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St.

Turkey Trot Walk – (TGW/Map)

Two 5k routes.
One route to waterfront and ferry terminal with views of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains, return through downtown Edmonds.
New 5k route walks thru Yost Park, cross Shell Creek and past the Swimming Pool.
Non-perishable food and paper product donations requested for Edmonds Food Bank.
Both routes are rated 1A (easy).

Safeway Parking Lot. 95 82nd Dr. Park away from store

Gladstone Neighborhoods Walk – YRE 773 Details/OSB

The walk goes through old neighborhoods in the Gladstone area to and along the Willamette River and returns on park sidewalks along the Clackamas River.
Both routes are rated 1A (easy).
