2026 Group Walking Schedule

Note:

Walk times vary depending on weather conditions, so please note the walk times below
Walks begin right at the start time so arrive early to sign-in, use the restroom, etc.
Walks are cancelled if there is snow or ice on the sidewalks or the temperature is expected to be greater than 85 degrees during the walk. We normally email the list when this happens.
The "Details/OSB" link for each walk may be used to get more information about the walk and allows you to sign-in via the online start box for that walk if one exists.
"TGW (Traveling Guided Walks)" are walks that are sanctioned as guided walks only, they start at the time specified come early to signin.

New Year’s Day Walk – EVENT

Celebrate the New Year by walking with a choice of 3 different 5 km walks.
The first walk is in a nice mostly commercial area crossing the new Blumenauer pedestrian/bicycle Bridge.
The second route goes through a very nice residential area with large beautiful homes to Grant Park and by Beverly Cleary School and Sculpture Gardens.
The third route goes by many historic homes to Irving Park.
All three routes are 5 km and rated 1A

New Year’s Day Walk - Event

Welcome the New Year and begin work on your exercise resolutions by walking this traditional NYD event.
The 10K will walk through neighborhoods and along the waterfront, including the Jack Block Park with its spectacular views of the Port and downtown.
5km rated 1A, 10 km rated 2A

Hidden Pathways Walk – YRE 1437 Details/OSB

Walk through many of the hidden pathways of Beaverton, through nice neighborhoods and past many restaurants.
5 and 10 km rated 1A (Easy)
The starting point is changed for this walk only.

Sumner Link Trail Walk – (TGW)

The 6K route takes you to a nearby park then onto the Sumner Link Trail.
The 10K will have additional neighborhoods and trails added to the 6K route.
Most of us will be doing only the 6K as we will be attending the club meeting at 11:00 am at the Sumner Library

Kenton from Old to New Walk – YRE 847 Details/OSB

Enjoy a part of Portland built as a company town - now a zany, historic district.
Walk in parks and historic area.
5 and 10 km – rated 1B (Easy)

JAN 15 @ 9:45 TO 10:00 (THURSDAY)

TENINO, WA

Tenino Market, 669 Lincoln Ave E

Town and Trail (TGW)

After exiting the Tenino City Park, this walk passes through a small residential area and then joins the Yelm-Tenino Trail (a paved former rail bed).
It later joins a nature trail and makes a big loop up a steep trail through the forest above the park, which can be very wet in the rainy season.
Leaving the park the second time, the walk goes into the town of Tenino
5 and 10 km rated 2C (difficult)

VANCOUVER, WA

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR Elementary School

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Walk (TGW)

The walk will be in mainly residential areas of nice homes. The 10 km will also go past very expensive home with views of Portland and the Columbia River.
5 and 10 km rate 1A (easy)
There are no restrooms at the start but both routes will pass Safeway at the 2km distance

Neighborhood Walk – YRE 773 Details/OSB

The walk goes through old neighborhoods in Gladstone City to the Willamette River then on paths and sidewalks along the Clackamas River.
5 and 10 km rated 1A (Easy)

Ft. Vancouver Visitor Center, 1501 E. Evergreen Blvd

Historic Vancouver – YRE 138 Details/OSB

This event explores the importance of this area in the history of the US, the Northwest & the Pacific region.
Route goes thru city parks, Clark College, Pearson Airfield & the National Historic Site, passing monuments & historic buildings along the way.
At the core of the historic site is Old Fort Vancouver.
5 and 10 km rated 1A (Easy)
